For nothing is impossible to God.’ ‘I am the handmaid of the Lord,’ said Mary ‘let what you have said be done to me.’
Lk.1:37:38
The angel Gabriel reveals to Mary her part in God's plan to save the world. Despite not completely understanding, despite her fear, Mary says do it Lord I trust you.
Mary reveals her great strength, her total trust in God. When things looked wild, even unbelievable, she yields to God's plans. Her humility in weakness allows God to fill her with his fathomless power. Truly, in her weakness she became strong.
Mary, an insignificant girl eight months pregnant, riding a lowly donkey over a rough track to Bethlehem, carries within her the salvation of all mankind, the salvation of me.
Hail Mary, full of grace
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women
and Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
