‘But you,’ he said ‘who do you say I am?’ It was Peter who spoke up. ‘The Christ of God’ he said.
Lk.9:20
Jesus is questioning his disciples on who the crowds say he is. He then zeros onto them, asking who they say he is. Peter's reply nails it. The Messiah of God.
If my faith is anything it is personal. The very first prayer I ever made was to "the God of Kate, if you're up there." I was searching and that was a starting point. I couldn't stay there. Who do I say he is? Jesus is my God. I am his. He is mine.
Jesus, you are my friend, you are my God. Walk beside me today I pray.
Saint Philip Neri, please pray for me.
