Here are we preaching a crucified Christ; to the Jews an obstacle that they cannot get over, to the pagans madness, but to those who have been called, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is the power and the wisdom of God.

Paul zeros in on what is both the problem and the power of the Gospel, Christ crucified.
The four gospels all spend a disproportionate time describing the death and resurrection of Jesus. It has always been the main tenet of Christianity. The Cross continues to be an obstacle and madness but Paul points out God planned it so faith is required to accept it.
Faith involves surrender. Suddenly the obstacle is removed, what was madness now makes perfect sense. Faith is the key that starts the engine in the powerhouse. It allows the Holy Spirit to take over and change my life, today.
Thank you Lord for my gift of faith in the power of your death on the cross and your resurrection from the dead.
