Joyful and Gentle

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Ph.4:4,5
Feast Day of Saint John Bosco

Saint Paul writes to the Church in Philippi exhorting them to be always joyful and gentle because of the nearness to them of God.

Being joyful and gentile was Saint John Bosco's method of reaching and teaching delinquent street boys in 19th century Turin. His teaching method was based on love rather than punishment.

Being gentle and joyful is uplifting to those exposed to it. It best presents the authentic Christian life. What a great way to live out my day!

Lord Jesus, help me be joyful and gentile to those I meet today.
Saint John Bosco, please pray for me.
