A Perfect Heart

Alleluia, alleluia! 

Come, Lord, bring to us your peace: 

let us rejoice before you with a perfect heart.

Today's gospel acclamation cries out to God for peace so we can respond with joy. In such a state our hearts are perfect.

The Advent cry for more peace, more joy is growing. Rich or poor, our cry is the same. We all yearn for peace and joy. And no wonder, for when peace and joy are mine I yearn no more. No more striving, no more constant longing. My heart is perfectly fulfilled.

Come Lord, bring me your peace. Let me rejoice before you with a perfect heart.
