The Sound of Forgiveness

No one therefore was present with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers, but he wept so loudly that all the Egyptians heard, and the news reached Pharaoh’s palace.

Gen.45:1,2

Joseph reveals himself to his brothers who had plotted to kill years earlier. In his position of power as Pharaoh's right hand man Joseph could have had his brothers killed. He chose to forgive although it was painful.

The Egyptian's heard Joseph's loud wailing. "What is that noise? Oh, it's just the sound of a man forgiving." Forgiveness may sometimes be painful but it's always life giving... to everyone.

Jesus, you have forgiven me at great cost. Help me always be an agent of forgiveness and mercy.
