Cross Lifter

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross:
Feast

'The Son of Man must be lifted up as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life.'
Jn.3:14-16

Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus and reveals plainly what the purpose of God is in sending his son into the world. Jesus must be proclaimed, lifted up, so that people may believe and gain eternal life.

This is the game plan for every Christian. Lift Jesus up for all to see so that he may be believed in. How we lift him up is our own particular calling. Different gifts lead to different methods.

What's my gift, my method? Being a man of prayer. Expressing hope and joy. Engaging with people. Being friendly and a friend. Exercising charity. Some days these do occur naturally, other days they don't. May today be a "Do Day" that Jesus may be lifted up by me so people may believe.

Lord Jesus, I desire to lift you up today. Holy Spirit, help me be an authentic Cross Lifter today.
